Real Dragons

There are several different kinds of dragons, some not even dragons, just look-alikes. Here is an explanation of some of the different species:

A Western style Dragon is the most common Dragon of America. Having wings, and four legs. stands on all fours but can stand on it's hind legs just as well. Flies even though it's massive size makes it look impossible. Considered the deadliest of all dragons because of it's size and maneuverability.

Eastern Dragons are Chinese and Japanese Dragons. often having no wings, long, serpent-like bodies with four legs spaced far away from each other. has large ears, eyes, frills, "whiskers" and a long, forked tongue. Not seen as a threat, instead, it's a protector.
Faerie Dragons shouldn't even be called Dragons. They are the smallest of all dragons and are vegetarians. Their wings are like butterfly wings. They have whiskers and frills as well, their teeth and claws grow and are sharp, but aren't usually use for Fighting. No word on if they can breathe fire like other Dragons.
The Hydra is also a common Dragon. Made famous in Greece and ancient Rome, it was a pet of Hades' and was used to thwart off Hercules. Has many heads that are all slightly different. The heads Grow back even when cut off and are multiplied after each is cut off. Burning it's body is the only way to defeat it. This Dragon may or may not have wings. No word on if they can breathe fire like other Dragons.
Wyverns are Dragons with Wings and legs like other Dragons, but It has only two legs on which to stand on. The wings have claws in them acting as an extra pair of hands to accompany the two actual hands. Usually not too big, however can be twice the size of a human. Seen as a sign of strength in the Dark Ages of England.

Alternate Dragons

Other giant lizards having the appearance of a Dragon or the characteristics of them have also been noted... Here are some of those:

The Pernese Dragons have two front and two hind legs and wings and fins, they do not, however, have any scales. They have the ability to change the colors of it's eyes, like a mood ring. They also have the ability to teleport into a void to escape danger. can't breathe fire without inhaling a Firestone first.
Drakes are similar to western Dragons, except they have no wings and only come in two versions. They are Fire and Cold and can Breathe Fire or Hail, they can get up to 40 feet long at maturity, but never grow wings. Young western Dragons are often mistaken for Drakes because the wings don't grow until a certain age.
Wyrms are Dragons with the physical appearance of a snake. A very ancient Dragon, having an uncanny resemblance to snakes except for they spikes down it's back and it's tremendous size, also called Guivre (gi-veer). An example of one is the Basilisk from Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets©®.
The Lindworm is a close relative of the Wyrm as it's a serpent with no wings, the only difference is that this one has "arms." It also has a very erratic looking scale pattern on the head and neck region. Eyes are slightly smaller and it fangs and forked tongue are longer than a Wyrm's. This Dragon can be as long as a Wyrm, maybe longer and are extremely swift, despite their size.
The Amphiptere is often called the "Feathered Dragon" as it's they only one with Feathers. Has somewhat of a better flying ability, in some ways worse though. The feathers are many, but if it loses a certain few, it loses it's ability to fly for a while, but with normal dragon wings, the leathery style of the wings are very hard to penetrate or cut without something very sharp.
The Ouroboro is a peculiar Dragon which walks around with it's tail in it's mouth. Can't attack unless it takes it's tail out of it's mouth and can't move very far when it's tail isn't in the mouth. This makes the Dragon predictable, but not always defeatable. The Ouroboro knows of it's weakness, and uses it to it's advantage, luring it's prey in with a false sense of security, then releasing it's tail and quickly snapping. Tail creates an imbalance as it's usually longer than the dragon and heavier. Symbolizes Never Ending or Infinite.
The Sea Dragon is a popular Dragon in Scotland, since the Lochness Monster is one. Leviathan, the mighty lord of the sea, is a Sea Dragon that has grown very large and slightly different than normal. The Sea Dragon, as the name suggests, is a Dragon that resides in the sea. Has no wings or arms, has fins down it's back and large fangs. It prays on ships that wander into it's territory and destroys the ship and eats whatever it wants from the ship.
The Amphisbaena is Dragon similar to the Ouroboro, but with four big differences. One, the legs an Amphisbaena has are hind legs and are also bird legs. Two, the wings it has are bird wings. Three, the "skin" an Amphisbaena has looks like muscle and it's tail is bumpy-looking. And Four, It has two heads, one normal head and one on the end of it's tail. This Dragon is a rare Dragon that isn't belligerent but is defensive. Has the ability to see in front and behind. The two heads are independent of each other, but are cooperative in there actions.
